Best Review on the Panasonic PV-GS250 MiniDV

Strengths: 3CCD, Video Quality, Picture Quality, Picture Modes, Great sports feature, Great optical immage stabilization.

Weakness: poor low light quality

This camcorder is overall a 10/10 for many reasons. I have had it for about 2 months and love it. I use it alot in the mountains for recording friends snowboard. i like to use the LCD screen and tilt it toward me so i can get down low as i ride and record my friends. The optical immage stabilization works great. when i play it back, you see no shaky movement. I use this camcorder all outside in...

PV-GS250 MiniDV Digital Camcorder (3.1MP, 10x Opt,...

Strengths: Excellent video color. Compact. 3.1 Megapixel camera. Price.

Weakness: Low light issues. No nightshot feature. MagicPix function slows the shutter speed so low that you hardly can take a real movie.

Previously I owned the Panasonic PV-DV702 which is an excellent camcorder itself. With a 1.3MP 1/4" single CCD it is really great for taking good quality videos. Why do I choose Panasonic compared to other brands - well, I tried Sony which honestly they cost more for features that you will never use. Bottomline, I look at video quality rather than features. Before buying the GS250, I looked at...

Good over all

Strengths: Clear picture, 3 CCD color quality, great deal of manual control, USB streaming for recorded video, AtoD

Weakness: A little bulky, controls take some time to get used to, firewire port only accessible when LCD is open.

This is my first digital camcorder, so I did a lot of research before plunking down $800. The GS250 had almost everything I wanted in a camcorder: 3-CCD, AtoD, USB streaming, optical stablelizer. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase. With everything on auto, I've been able to consistently get sharp, beautifully colored video. The quality deteriorates quite a bit under low light conditions,...

Panasonic PV-GS250

Strengths: Excellent video resolution and color, easy joystick menu operation, respectable 3.1 MP still pictures, Optical rather than Electronic Image Stabilization

Weakness: Typical average digital camcorder low light performance, zoom toggle lever placement, limited 10x Optical Zoom

I purchased this camcorder based on professional reviews compared with similar priced brands. I wanted a camcorder with as large a still picture capability that was available. When I travel, I primarily take video and I no longer want to carry a separate still camera. I was about to purchase the Panasonic GS400 until the consumer reviews began complaining of the noisy tape transport. I was not...

Panasonic Palmcorder Digital Camcorder - 2.5" LCD -...

Strengths: Optical image stabilization, manual feautres, price, video quality

Weakness: zoom button location

This is my first camcorder so I don't have any other to compare with. The camcorder looks and feels to be very well built. The joystick and menu are nice. I chose this camcorder becuase I thought it was the best bang for the buck in this price range. The optical image stabilization works better than I expected. Overall I am very happy with the purchase.

panasonic pv-gs250 camcorder

Strengths: decent picture quality optical stabilization easy-to-use joystick-type control Mac-friendly (even if it doesn't claim to be) little motor noise

Weakness: low-light performance is only "OK" microphone doesn't seem to pick up sound all that well? manual occasionally confusing

I based my decision to purchase this camcorder on a review at dvspot-dot-com and repair records of a major consumers' magazine that indicate that Panasonics have better repair records than Canons (a Canon was actually my first choice based on my internet research; then I checked the magazine's repair records). I am upgrading from an ancient camcorder that records to analog tapes, so I can't...

Panasonic Palmcorder Digital Camcorder - 2.5" LCD -...

Strengths: 3CCDs. Optical image stabilization. Compact and light. Easy navigational system. Excellent picture quality in 4:3 and 16:9 size.

Weakness: Low light performance. No special effects as GS400 had.

I had Panasonic GS-50s before. After one and half year using, it sometimes can't record any image and had a big problem on tape transportation. Then, because of budget issue, I decided to purchase the GS-250 2 months ago. After used, the GS-250 does produce a higher picture quality than my GS-50s did. Overall, I'm very impressed with the features on the camcorder, and the ease of adjusting your...

Great Piece of Equipment

Strengths: Ease of Use, Excellent photo & video quality

Weakness: needs bright light indoors and battery life stinks

I purchased this camcorder after reviews many. This one got excellent reviews and I know why. This cam is very easy to use and operate. I love taking the still shots while videotaping an event. I would recommend this product to anyone !!

Panasonic Palmcorder Digital Camcorder - 2.5" LCD -...

Strengths: Sharp Image, Optical Image Stabilization. 3CCD Chip. Manual Focus Ring.

Weakness: 16:9 mode is a zoom mode. Top & Bottom of picture is trimmed.

I have been debating going with the GS250 or the Canon Optura 60. I am glad I decided on the GS250, and am happy with the picture quality, and how quiet the camera is while recording. The Optical Image Stabilization works great, but don't expect miracles. The only negative I could find is the 16:9 widescreen mode is not a true 16:9 mode like the Optura 60 or the Panny GS150o or GS400. It trims...

Panasonic Palmcorder Digital Camcorder - 2.5" LCD -...

Strengths: 3CCDs/Optical Image Stabilizer/Navigation&Joystick Control/LEICA Dicomar lens

Weakness: Battery life(3CCDs consume more)/Low light weakness(3CCDs issue)/No touch screen

Panasonic PV-GS250 is one of the top-ranked camcoder. It's outstanding in performance and picture quality (3CCDs adv.) with a reasonable price. I did research on it before I decided to buy. Many reviews rated it very high score (8/10 from Cnet - rarely in camcorder). As it's my first camcorder, I first time thought that it would be very difficult to use this "hundred-function" camcorder. However,...

Panasonic PV-GS250 Camcorder Review

For just under a grand (recommended), the PV-GS250 is available in stores now. Immediately below the PV-GS400 as far as specifications, options, features, and price goes, the 3 CCD PV-GS250 makes many highly desirable features available for a cheaper price than that of the PV-GS400. But while the PV-GS250 features a focus ring, a new navigational system, and many still options, it doesn’t make...
