Handycam DCR-PC55 MiniDV Digital Camcorder

Strengths: Small size, Touch screen customizable menus

Weakness: Only one battery size fits. No eye view finder (LCD only)

It was getting time to replace my old Sony DCR-PC1 camcorder. I want a very small camera for travel. The PC1 was the smallest camcorder when I got it and the PC55 is even smaller. Handycam DCR-PC55 MiniDV Digital Camcorder

Strengths: excellent video and sound. the docking station is great

Weakness: cant see view finder screen adequately in birght light

the viewfinder is not easily seen in the bright light which precludes the optimziation of exposure. I would not purchase the camera for that reason.

It ships with an entry-level imager, 1/6”...

Sony DCR-PC55 Camcorder Review

The DCR-PC55 is an odd one. It’s marketed as, and is, the smallest MiniDV camcorder ever, and this inflates its price considerably. Aside from that gimmicky quality, the camcorder doesn’t really have too much to offer aside from a few cool still effects. Like most lower-end CCD Sonys this year, the DCR-PC55 has bad low light performance, little to no manual control, and a navigational system...
