dvd810 hybrid gives you features of both hard...Strengths: ability to record to hard drive (internal memory) or mini-dvd, overall nice design and size, has viewfinder, very good video quality Weakness: "minor" ones: LCD gets smudged/fingerprints from touch screen menu. Tough to get a comfortable hand postion when recording. This camera replaced my 10 year old sony handycam hi-8 which still works great, but hard to find tapes these days and I don't have hours of time anymore to convert my tapes to dvd. This cam is less than half the size of my "old school" cam but is not too small. I could not decide on hard drive or mini-dvd. Review of Sony DCR-DVD810Strengths: Good stability control for pictures. Weakness: Weight is still a bit too much for this type of camera. Like the multiple recording media that it provides such as mini DVD, memory stick pro duo, and the 8GB of internal capacity is nice. Also, the many interface types (e.g. s-video, USB) are very handy to use. Again, would prefer the weight to be a bit less than 15 oz.

DVD 810Strengths: Compact Size, easy to use, both internal and DVD recording options Weakness: Night mode This is the most economic camcorder that one can ask for its price and the value it provides.It gives an option to record in its 8gb internal memory as well as an option to record in the conventional mini DVDs.It is damn easy to use, I didn't even had to open the instruction to do my first recording.Night mode suffers some weakness, but overall the product is a good buy !!
