Best High Def CameraStrengths: Incredible, Clear Picture, Ease of Use, Quality Construction, Best Value. Weakness: NONE I was looking for a hard drive High Def camera. I purchased the JVC GZ HD7 and took it home. The camera was $1,800 and rated at much higher resolution but the picture quality was nothing compared to this Sony HDR UX7. Everyone complains about the 15 minute recording time in full High Def but I don't think that is a problem. If you think aboit it, how boring are home movies anyway! Short scenes,...

UX7-Great video, bad DVD life
Strengths: HD format is great, flash is very bright (more than a point and shoot camera). Takes great pictures. Takes great video
Weakness: DVD only lasts 9.26 minutes on a 15 minute formated DVD. Low light indoor video is granular even in decent conditions. filters keep the flash from performing.
So for all the people saying DVD life is fine at 15 minutes or 25 minutes with the DL DVDs, they are wrong. I have used this camcorder every day for the last three months while I toured through Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
