Good camera for the price

Strengths: Simple to use. Offers many of the best features.

Weakness: Battery life after recharging is weak.

Overall, a great camera for the money. Takes excellent shots. Has many great features and is easy to manage. My kids have no problems. Has the same condesation issue that all Sony cameras have.

Sony Handycam Digital Camcorder - 2.5" LCD - CCD

Strengths: The camara is easy to use. I don't like reading manuals. But I learned how to film, edit, and play back on the TV in less than 30 minutes.

Weakness: We took an indoor movie for Christmas. It was sunny outside and the movie taken in our living room turned out a bit dark. We still need to experiment with the lighting features of the camara.

I would recommend this camcorder, especially for people who are first-time-owners. We have always been satisfied with the quality of sony products. Because it uses Hi8 disks it may be found at discounted prices. We bought ours on sale. In general, we are happy with the camara and would recommend it.

Sony Handycam Digital Camcorder - 2.5" LCD - CCD

Strengths: Great quality without the cost.

Weakness: None as far as I'm concerned.

My parents loaned me their Sony Digital 8 camcorder when my son was born, but now it's being passed on to my brother. We didn't want to miss recording our Christmas memories so began looking for one of our own. Once we ruled out buying a DVD camcorder (due to cost), we didn't have a clue what was left. So after a trek to the store to see what different models looked liked, we realized a few...

Sony Handycam Digital Camcorder - 2.5" LCD - CCD

Strengths: Easy to use. Simply load a tape and start shooting. Great features for the price. Featuring allowing direct burn to DVD is nice. Sony allows makes a nice product.

Weakness: Viewer screen is too small. Previously had a Sony camera with a larger screen. Camera tends to need to have the heads cleaned more often. I think this is a Sony problem.

I previously owned a Sony digital camera and bought this one as a "cheap" replacement. Sony always makes great products. This camera is no differnt. While on the lower end of features. It is easy to use. Can easily hook up to my TV for playback at family functions. The view screen is a little small for my taste but it is a small drawback and it seems that all the video cameras have screens this...

Sony Handycam Digital Camcorder - 2.5" LCD - CCD

Strengths: Excellent outdoors, can be used as a webcam, great size, not too small or too big, price, zoom is awesome!

Weakness: tape noise, battery life of supplied battery even after a full charge.

I researched A LOT before I bought this camera and I guess CR helped me to make up my mind. I had thought about another camcorder, but tried this one out instead. It was on sale, which was my first reason for looking at the Sony and I didn't want to spend more than $350 on a camcorder. This camcorder does what a camcorder should do, take video. You also get some extra perks, you can use it as a...

Quick Review Camcorders : Sony DCR-TRV260

Sony's cheaper, more stripped-down Digital 8 offering this year, the DCR-TRV260, is a good camcorder for the money, especially if you’re a fan of Digital 8. This camcorder has many of the same options as some more expensive Sony MiniDV camcorders, and the DCR-TRV460 doesn't offer more for its relatively large increase in price. (Memory Stick media compatibility and some analog inputs allowing...

Sony DCR-TRV260 Camcorder Review

Sony's DCR-TRV260 Digital8 camcorder has many of the bells and whistles found on Sony's HC20 and HC30 but the cost is significantly less-$349.99 MSRP. Digital8 isn't a bad option if you're on a budget, and want a lot of camcorder for lowest price, and when I say a lot of camcorder I mean a lot of camcorder: the DCR-TRV260 is one large piece of machinery. Digital8's were hot items in the nineties,...
