Next generation -Handy cam (Sony DCR-SR80 60GB 1MP...Strengths: Direct MPEG2 Format Recording. Dolby Digital Audio Recording Professional quality Product at affordable price Light weight. Harddrive Shock proof technology - Hopefully it will work as decribed Weakness: I would expect any non-moving RAM Disk rather than a Harddrive for a handycam. I got it for $680 in Amazon on 2 Oct 06 and being one of the 1st customer to use and review the product since its lunched by the manufacturer in Sept 21st 2006, I found this Wonderful product- excellent for both Indoor and outdoor recording. No hassles converting Analog to digital on your PC.. one step DVD burning made my life easier. - Highly recommended for home use.. the price is worth its...

Cool, sleek and handy camcorderStrengths: easy to use, very portable, 60gb HD, night shot, touch screen Weakness: battery needs to have an extra. Record many hours of digital video and directly to hard drive is great quality of the camcorder. Its touch screen makes my life easier because it is so convenient to use. The hard disk drive is used with the camcorder that can connect to my computer, or television set. The camcorder has wide screen mode as well. I have not used DVD direct recorder compatibility and pre-packaged software yet, but...

DCR-SR80 is a good cameraStrengths: Good value for the money, large hard drive, user interface Weakness: docking station required to download movies to PC I bought the DCR-SR80 from an on-line dealer called Butterfly Photo for $580. They were easy to work with and made the shipment quickly. The box seemed like it had been opened before, but all the parts were there and everything works fine. The camera works well, the video quality is better than other camcorders I've seen at a similar price, and the user interface works for me. I like Sony's user...

Very happy with my Sony Handycam DCR-SR80Strengths: Very fast file transfer of movie or stills from camcorder to PC; don't have to purchase casette tapes or mini-DVDs for camcorder; produces high quality images and movies; comes with a docker. Weakness: Only 12X optical zoom I am extremely satisfied with my Sony Handycam DCR-SR80. It's simple to operate, especially if you use the "Easy" button. The docker that comes with the camcorder makes it handy to charge the battery and to connect the camcorder to a computer or DVD burner without fiddling with the camcorder itself. I am especially excited with having a hard drive for storage so I don't have to purchase any more...

I'm very amazing by this cameraStrengths: Very small size. Very simple to use. Quality of Video is very good. The Night Vision is powerful. Weakness: The battery life is not enough for this camera. I recommend a extra one. I'm very happy with this camera. I was looking for the DCR-SR100 but for the differences and the price, I pick this one. I Recommend this model instead of the DCR-SR100. You got for your money

Excellent Camera worth the priceStrengths: sexy look, no tape or casette required, good quality video Weakness: battery I was using Mini DV and bought this camera. I did lot of analysis before the purchase. Has lot of advantages over the DVD camera. Mini DVD is more expensive. You need not carry extra DVD/tape with you. Can store 60GB of data. The price for the camera is coming down, you can wait to get good deals. Advertisement

Using the SR80 to record church services.
Strengths: The SR80 is small and light, easy to carry and works great on a 10 dollars tripod. I use the one touch DVD burn button and a DVD is available minutes after I record our church services.
Weakness: None in my use to date
The SR80 is being replaced on or before March 19, 2007 by the SR82. The one different feature that I notice is that: Memory Stick is added for still pictures. The SR80 records still pictures to the Hard Drive. I haven’t tried this feature yet. . I can see an advantage on downloading still pictures from a memory stick, just remove the stick and place it in a reader or printer.. I have recorder...
