Outstanding Camcorder! As close to perfect as they...

Strengths: Ease of use, lightweight, excellent sound and video reproduction, great still picture shots, extremely vivid LCD viewer and very fast zoom.

Weakness: Playback touchscreen menu is a little tough to navigate on the LCD, but after all, it's only 2.5-3 inches large in the first place. Overall, I haven't really found any weaknesses.

I bought this camera to record my son as he grows through the years. I wanted something cutting edge without paying out the wazoo for it. I am particular to Sony products as they have been very good to me over the years. I checked the ratings on Consumer Reports and Sony is still one of the most reliable manufacturers and most popular camcorder brand. This one is no disappointment. Aside from the...

DCR-DVD 305 Great Camera - Bad for Mac

Strengths: Excellent video reproduction in wide screen. Clarity is very definite. Very easy to point and shoot. I added a telephoto and a wide angle lens and the videos are even better.

Weakness: No DV output, only USB. The video files it creates are .ts files and can't be read by Macs. The Picture Package software for PC is very weak.

I use this camera for filming college football games. I am not a professional videographer. I am able to create a disc, and then mass copy it for sharing with others. For this, the camera is amazing. I then wanted to edit all the videos that I have taken onto discs. But neither Nero, Pinnacle for my PC and Imovie for my mac could read the files. Too bad, I have some great footage. I will be...

Sony DCR HC36

Strengths: Low Light and Sharp and Ease of Use.

Weakness: None

I would have to rate this camera 5 out of 5 stars. It is great under low light situations. Clear and Easy Instructions, both in the book as well as the touch screen. Also easy to upload into your computer. The only suggestion I would offer is to get a fire wire for fast transmission.

Good

Strengths: Compact and easy to use

It was easy to use and better design. I wish it had more resolution for still pictures and it could record more than 30 minutes on DVD. I am happy with it

Sony DCR DVD305

Strengths: My first experience of buying DVD camcorder. It looks nice and beautiful. Very handy and most important it has a +RW format.

Weakness: I have not found it yet. Let me use it more.

I have been in United States since last three years and this is my first experience of buying DVD Camcorder. I went thro' the customer's reviews have been waiting for the right price to purchase. Finally I made a decision a week before and purchased it and start looking at the features and using it since last three days. It has a 2.7" screen, still imaging, + RW format for DVDs which are...

My first DVD Camcoder

Strengths: Excellent compact design 5.1 Surround Sound and included Mic Image quality Night mode Less Weight Fast zoom and adjustment

Weakness: No built in light. Memory stick not included as In the box accessory. LCD display has not very sharp picture Battry Life Firewire support Can not recorder video to memory stick

I have been owning Canon ZR50MC Camcoder for almost 4 years now. Its amazing how the prices have dropped. I payed around 900$ for canon and now only 600$ for DVD305 Sonay Camcoder. I have recently received this camcoder and so far very pleased with its performance and looks comparing with the price. Picture quality is great. Very compact and easy to hold. The Touchscreen can rotate for self...

Handycam DCR-DVD305 Digital Camcorder

Strengths: Small and efficient camera.

Weakness: Lack of a user friendly interface in camera screen and lack of a good zoom. The PC support tools provided are terrible.

1. The zoom on the camera could have been better. 2. Probably a Hard disk would have helped than a DVD. 3. The installation of the device drivers for USB is painful. The drivers could have been WHQL certified for easy installation. 4. The PC tools provided for accessing pictures and video are not good and do not even tell you whether they have connected to the camera. 5. The user interface on the...

review for Sony DCR-DVD305 digital camcorder

Strengths: It's pretty easy to use and it can catch something really far away.

Weakness: not quick enough to catch the moment (a lot of blurry ones if the object is moving).

It's a nice camera, easy to use although it's a little bulky or not easy to carry. It can catch something really far away but can't catch something moving quick enough.

great convenient camcorder but a cost higher than...

Strengths: compact size, lots of upgraded features, for the most part relatively easy to use

Weakness: not enough standard accessories included, had to buy a lot of extras, weak zoom

This is the second camcorder purchase I have made. The first camcorder I had was a JVC many many years ago and I remember how everything was standard and included. Correct me if I'm wrong, it seems that nowadays that's how these companies make their money. The memory stick, blank media, and protective case were not included which is understandable but no standard AC charger (aside from the...
