Sony HC26 Mini Digital CamcorderStrengths: tiny, easy to use, great picture and sound, night vision feature Weakness: I'm struggling here, but there can be a problem with noise if it is windy We wanted a camcorder for a trip to Ireland. I did a lot of research and was very concerned that we would not be able to get something of great quality for the little amount that we wanted to spend. I was wrong! We went into the store and tried out this little beauty and never looked back! The size is amazing- my husband carried it in his coat pocket the whole time we were in Ireland and we just...

Small, Decent CamcorderStrengths: Brand,Touch Screen Weakness: low light, sound I have been using this for a month and it cost me about $175 and love it for this price It has not color viewfinder and also not moving up and down, basically useless. You should always use LCD and nice that has some buttons for zoom and recording features are very helpful. It is OK to see under direct sunlight.Sound is noisy, indoor is noisy and no extra stick for pictures but it is fine I have...

cute product, easy to useStrengths: Video image is clear, small, easy to use, good reputation of vendor. Weakness: a little bit noise in sound Got one after Thanksgiving. Only about $250 after discount, which is the best price to me. Since this is a product from a famous vendor, I do not need to worry anything. Reliable warranty.

Good Digital Camcorder for the PriceStrengths: Ease of use, size, availability of mini DV tapes Weakness: Because of small size, it's easy to get finger in front of the lens and in the picture. One of the great things about the DCR-HC26 MiniDV is its size. It's easy to keep handy for video opportunities. The menu was easy to learn and operation is fairly simple. I installed a 1394 firewire card on my PC and transferring video to computer file and to disc is fairly quick. I could not get the video and audio to transfer together with USB. The picture is very good for a camera of this...

DCR-H26 MiniDV HandycamStrengths: Functions easy to use. Fits in hand nicely. Childern able to use with small explanition. Weakness: Longer battery life needed. Fun to use. Great quality. Images and sound ... play back nicely on TV. Children love to use this handycam and they are able to learn the features in minutes. Only draw back is its taped and not on disc, to retrieve a section from middle of recording my take a bit more time.

Sony DCR-HC26 MiniDV Digital CamcorderStrengths: This is a great camcorder - very easy to figure out how to use especially with the controls on the viewfinder. The movies and sound are great quality. The compact size makes it great to take anywhere. Weakness: It can be a little hard to keep this camera steady since it is so small, but a tripod would certainly help that. I am very happy with this unit made by Sony as I have been with all my Sony camcorders. It is a top quality camcorder at a great price. I think that they should have included the USB cord to be able to download to the computer. It is very compact and easy to travel with and the quality of the picture is great. I also love the Easy feature - you don't have to think about anything, just hit record....

Entry Level CameraStrengths: Size, touch screen Weakness: view finder,no hot shoe I have bought this camera for entry level some family movies. I am not the expert but it is noisy on low light as many other camcorders. I am fine with it.The only problem for me is low light and I need to add a light but there is not hot shoe to do it. View finder is not adjustable and also there is noisy sound. I think I got what I paid. Finally it is good for entry level camcorder and $200 is...

Very decent camcorderStrengths: it's small and very good looking. Its zoom is very powerful and the LCD touch screen is very easy to use. Great quality of video clip Weakness: need to buy cable to transfer images to computer This is a very decent camcorder. It's very good looking and very small and cute. It's comfortable to hold. Its zoom in/out are powful, and LCD is touch screen and menues are user friendly. Battery life is pretty good. Video quality is decent at night with low indoor lighting and without the night mode even turned on. Outdoor video during the day is bright and clear. Sony really makes great...

Great compact camcorderStrengths: 20x zoom. Very compact and lightweight. very easy to use. Top-loading tape compartment is definately plus. Weakness: No memory slot for photo capture. Short battery life and no accessory shoe. Average video quality I have been using this camcorder for about 3 weeks and I found it very good shooting outdoor in sunlight. 20X zoom comes handy shooting outside. Video quality is not that great shooting inside with no extra light. No memory card slot. I am satisfied with this camcorder for the price I paid.

Sony DCR-HC26 Camcorder Review
The DCR-HC26 is Sony’s entry-level MiniDV camcorder this year. Writing about the entry-levels is always difficult, because they are destined to perform poorly compared to all the great camcorders from the year prior. But here we are at the beginning of the year, with all the bottom-of the barrel models to review, and yet again they disappoint. The DCR-HC26 has little to offer and gives little... Top

Quick Camcorder Reviews: Sony DCR-HC26
The Sony DCR-HC26 is predominately similar to the HC21, this camcorder,s predecessor, although there are several features missing from this 2006 model in comparison. The DCR-HC26 is the lowest priced model currently sold by Sony and the price is reflected in the poor image quality and minimal control options. Selling for $350, the DCR-HC26 is still slightly higher in price than most budget 1 chip... Top

Sony DCR-HC26 Mini DV Camcorder
If you're looking for a camcorder that is rather petite, the DCR-HC26 is perfect, especially for those instances when you're shooting hand held for long periods of time. This camcorder is very light-weight, but is well suited for mounting on a tripod, too. The DCR-HC26 loads the mini DV tape from the side, so changing tapes while mounted on a tripod is a snap. We were especially pleased with this... TopAdvertisement

Good Budget Camcorder
Strengths: Decent zoom, small, fits nicely in your hand.
Weakness: Fake widescreen, noisy picture
One of the problems with this camcorder is the LCD touchscreen. Though nice, it's the only way to navigate through the menu, this means it always has to be open and the very bright LCD interferes when shooting in the dark. It is not a true widescreen and the picture quality is noisy. This Sony camcorder is fine for general use and when budget is a factor.
