Worth the extra $$$

Strengths: Love the A/V input and battery life

Weakness: Low-light recording leaves a little to be desired

2nd camcorder I've owned and found this light years better than my old JVC. easy to use controls and menus. Long battery life too. Like most of the reviews say, this model is not the greatest at low-light levels. But overall, its well worth the $$$. Highly suggest for those family guy video recorders like myself.

Nice Camcorder

Strengths: Its lite, Zoom, Voice Recording, Focus

Weakness: Shutter need to be manually operated, Digital Zoom over 100 needs a tripod, SD card videos are at low resolution and not clear.

This cam has all the features that are required for a Cam Corder the zoom is really good. The Colors are not that natural. I dint not understand the use of Light its only for close objects. battery life is really good. the height of the cam is a little extra. most of the will be attracted with this Cam. ZR600 also have similar featurs except the DV terminal. With the same featurs one can go to...

My Canon ZR 700

Strengths: Size, Battery is long lasting and is also used by the Canon s80

Weakness: Hard to hold at first, takes some getting used to.

The colors are rich and vibrant. I found that the new toggle switches are a vast improvement over the older Canon camcorders. I used to own a CANON ZR60. The things that I noticed right away were size, easy buttons to use and a slide lens cover. The size improves carrying it and it really is subcompact now. The slide lens cover is a vast improvement and I no longer worry about picking up the...

Low Priced and Compact

Strengths: - Price and Quality - uses SD Card - Widescreen LCD - Joy Stick

Weakness: - do not see a external light source

This is my first buy of MiniDV and sound like an Excellant one w/ his model from Canon. I do read reviews about low light conditions - which I haven't encounted yet. It would be good to have a external light - but that is one of the 'good to have'. Exellant buy at this price of below 300

ZR700 Review

Strengths: Main advantage is Analog input .

Weakness: None i know of

Analog input used to store my old videos into mini DV tape. This is light weight. Main advantage is Mini DV tape which is not expensive. Nice LCD screen also.

I like this camcorder

Strengths: 1. small site 2. widescreen feature 3. extra white light

Weakness: still image quality

The most important feature I like is its widescreen native capture. It makes my son's home video DVD matches exactly with my new bought big HDTV. Otherwise, my old model miniDVD made DVDs have everybody look shorter while playing on the big TV. I like its small size very much too. It's even smaller than the ZR200 I bought last year. It looks so cute that I enjoy to hold it in my hand for long...

Canon ZR700 offers nice features at a great price...

Strengths: Tons of features, small size, good battery life, built-in firewire/ilink/IEEE1394, built-in analog/digital converter

Weakness: None that I have found yet.

I have had this DVcam for about a month so far and it has more than lived up to what I had heard about it. It's so small and portable that it's not much larger than the average digital still camera. The built-in FireWire is a must for people who want to use it with iMovie/FinalCut on the Macs or many software package for Windows computers. I have not had a chance to use the analog/digital...

First camcorder

Strengths: 25x Zoom, built-in lens cover, widescreen, compact size, easy menu navigation, don't need to be a rocket scientist to use

Weakness: Built-in lens cover is manual, strap should be broader, low-light noise, photo feature is useless, flimsy A/V cap

This is my first camcorder and I feel that I made a wise purchase considering the low cost. There are many more expensive units out there with better video performance but I feel that you can't find anything better for the money. The good: The optical zoom is simply amazing along with the focus performance at full optical telephoto. In my opinion, the digital zoom is a useless feature as it...

OK camcorder

Strengths: Small size, low price

Weakness: Color is not that great especially in low light.

Got it from Dell, it is cheap for the performance and size. Can't say more about it. It is OK for beginners I think. Easy to use. Global AC voltage 110-240 input.

Canon ZR700 Camcorder Review

The Canon ZR700 tops off the ZR series this year, which has undergone serious cosmetic changes, including a new joystick control. How does the ZR700 hope to distinguish itself? The differences from next step-down, the ZR600, are small but crucial, including the analog inputs. Combine this with a 30x optical zoom and solid low light performance and you’ve got an under $400 camcorder that looks...

Canon ZR700

This slender MiniDV cam from Canon slides nicely into your hand while offering some decent features, including a 2.7-inch display for 16:9 widescreen viewing, a 25X optical zoom, and a joystick on the LCD’s housing that makes accessing the ZR700’s settings a snap. ..
