Canon DC 10 - if you can get it cheap, it's well...

Strengths: - great picture - compact - nice design - great value

Weakness: - battery life - dvd capacity

First off, you have to realize this is a DVD camcorder. That means you get the convenience of burning your movie right onto DVDs (actually mini DVDs) which you can play on your DVD player. Unlike with mini DV camcorders, you don't have to transfer it your computer and then back onto dvd. Also, most mini DV camcorders require a firewire port. So if you are missing a dvd burner, firewire port and...

Excellent Camcorder

Strengths: Easy to use, very compact, good pictures. It picks up sound very well.

Weakness: Battery doesn't last very long. It is best to get a spare. You can get a Cannon camcorder case with a spare battery and 4 DVD-R in a packege in a lot of electronic stores. That is what I got.

The Camcorder uses DVD-R and DVD-RW, not DVD+RW. I made a mistake of using DVD+RW. Also, Cannon's customer service is excellent. If you have trouble, call them.

Good size and great function Camcorder - DC 10 DVD

Strengths: Small design, good shape with remote, clear picture and good sound!

Weakness: Battery's life is too short-need extra batteries & packs of mini DVD for the trip,no mini SD card go with Camcorder to shot photo (need to buy extra)

Very compact Camcorder with still photography, easy instruction and many option for shot and edit both video & photos. I did research this Camcorder for a while before buying and used it for my long trip oversea. I find out everything is OK so far.!

review for sony DC 10

Strengths: excellent

Weakness: the fammat of the file

It is really a nice product. I like it very much. The LCD is good. The quality of the recording is good. And it is tight one and easy to use. The only concerning is that if the computer can read the recorded file without any other process it will be perfact.

Great camcorder at a great price

Strengths: Lightweight, records on DVD, 10x optical zoom.

Weakness: Uses digital stablization, not optical.

This is a great camcorder for anyone looking for one that is lightweight, fully featured, has a descent zoom range and from a reputable brand. Canon is known for great products and this is one of them. Recommended!

GREAT!

Strengths: Small, great looks, excellent video quality, great colors. Great sound capture.

Weakness: The digital zoom isn't very good, but you can set the camcorder to operate within optical zoom. It doesn't have firewire. No case included.

For about 400 bucks this is a great camera today. The materials and general design are excellent. Haven't tried the photo. I was only interested in the video performance. I used the cheapest dvd media and it worked flawlessly. Finalizing the mini-dvd took about a minute and a half and my sony DVD player played it without a glitch. I'm very happy with this. I was concerned about the video quality...

Canon DC10

Strengths: Very pretty

Weakness: Battery life is not good.

I would recommend this nice little camcorder to every one. Because: 1. It is very pretty 2. Size of camcorder is awesome. It is the smallest DVD camcorder I've ever seen. 3. Very easy to use 4. Image quality is superior. Battery life is not as good as I expected. But you can connect the power line when you use it inside the home.

Canon DC 10

Strengths: compact size, great value - you get a lot of camcorder for your money, easy to use as far as actually recording goes

Weakness: the optical zoom seems a bit weak and I'd say it loses quality under low light situations

The Canon DC 10 is a great value - I got mine through buydig.com and paid easily $100 less than if I'd bought in a chain electronics store. They shipped fast and were easy to deal with. But as far as the camera value itself goes, it does great too. I had a bit of trouble figuring out how to get the movies I recorded to talk to my computer - I figured that running Windows XP on a new computer...

Quick Review Camcorders: Canon DC10

The Canon DC10 is one of two camcorders marking Canon’s first entry into the DVD camcorder market (the other being the D20). In the past, DVD cams have largely proven to be convenience-oriented gizmos with little to offer in the way of manual control. While some of them take decent video, they can rarely compete with comparably priced MiniDV cams. Canon had a few years to study the market...

Canon DC10 Camcorder Review

Canon, the tortoise of the camcorder industry, has finally chosen to enter into the race with the hare. The DC10 and DC20 mark their first foray into the DVD camcorder market, currently dominated by Sony. Their large imager size (1/4” and 1/3.9”, respectively) promise some considerable performance, and their stylish and slender bodies indicate superb handling and portability. But how did they...
