I bought this camera in the spring 07 and have been very pleased with the quality of it. It is very small and easy to carry. The LCD screen is extremely sharp and bright and I like the feature that you can flip it and have it around. The controls are very easy and the navigation button next to the LCD screen comes in handy to access the menu. I love the 32X optical zoom which is incredible for this camera. I wish the battery would be hold more power but I guess I have to buy a second one. You do not have to buy tapes or DVD and you can delete the scenes that you do not like quickly and free up more space on the HDD. My next purchase would be the DVD docking station that I should have bought with the Camera which will making burning my footage to DVD simple.

Nice camera with good feature set.

Strengths: Easy to use out of the box. Takes nice pictures. The camera is compact.

Weakness: The compact nature of the camera makes using the zoom alittle awkward. Just need to get used to the buttons.

I got this for what I felt was a steal at Circuit City for $349.99 with free shipping. It is very nice camera. I was a little worried because I read that inside shots are grainy but I did not experience that. We got the camera in the afternoon, took it out of the box for a play that we needed to record, did not have time to read the instructions and took some decent video without having much expertise using the camera.

I think the camera requires some computer knowledge in order to be able to record videos and transfer files. Not much but I can see where someone might find these extra steps cumbersome. I think it's definitely for intermediate to advanced computer users. We like having the option of making DVDS or not but still being able to record an event. That would not be possible with a DVD tape/DVD only camera.

The sound quality is quite good and all in all we are very pleased with this purchase.
